The AQUAvalve is a simple but very effective watering device but needs to be treated with care. Keep the AQUAvalve and the tray it sits in clean, free of obstructions, soil particles and it will help you water & feed your plants for many years. The AQUAvalve is guaranteed for 12 months.

The AQUAvalve is supplied with all the AutoPot tray systems. Once connected to the water supply the AQUAvalve will control the flow of water to the plants, by simple gravity pressure from a tank or reservoir, no pumps, electricity or timers are required.  The AQUAvalve will open and allow water to fill the tray, to a pre-set level of 20mm. When the level is reached the AQUAvalve will shut off and prevent any further water from entering the tray until all the water has been consumed by the plants sitting in the tray. When all the water has been exhausted and the tray is empty the AQUAvalve will re-open and allow more water to enter the tray. As the plants grow larger the AQUAvalve will open & close more often & will perform in accordance with the plants needs. By filling the tray and then allowing it to completely empty before it is re-filled, allows the plants to go through a wet & dry cycle. At AutoPot we call this technology PCI or "Plant Controlled Irrigation". (Continue reading below)

The AQUAvalve cover if used in conjunction with the AQUAvalve allows the grower to create their own basic but very effective hobby watering system. All that is needed is a flat tray of any shape or size. The user simply places the AQUAvalve in the tray & places the AQUAvalve cover over the top of it. A small weight of any kind needs to be placed on the AQUAvalve cover to weigh it down and the AQUAvalve beneath it, a small pot of compost or a stone will suffice. Ensure that you do not cover the small breather hole on the top of the AQUAvalve cover. Once in place simply connect the AQUAvalve to a tank, using a length of 6mm pipe and a filter. Although a very basic method, this home made system following the guidelines above can be very effective. When making your own hobby systems please ensure that the tray is as level as possible and that the pot size is not less than 5 ltrs. If you use small pots you will risk the chance of drowning the plants. A small plant in a small pot will not appreciate being sat in deep water as the root system will not be able to breath, this obviously does not apply to bog plants or carnivorous plants. If you intend to grow carnivorous plants using this method please ensure you only use rain water.

Once again keep the tray & AQUAvalve clean and free of floating growing medium, use a small hand brush to remove any soil stuck to the sides & bottom of the pots before you place them into the tray. Many pots can be placed in a basic set up as described above.

The easy2grow Kit is the only complete kit in the world that will water & feed your plants without the need for pumps, timers or electricity, the water supply is gravity fed from the 47ltr tank supplied with the kit. Simply top up the tank every few weeks adding liquid feed at the same time to provide nutrients. Any greenhouse crop can be grown in this system. The system can be easily extended to feed six pots, by adding the 2Pot extension Kits.

The easy2grow Kit comes supplied with the following: x1 47ltr tank, lid & top hat grommet, x1 2Pot tray & lid, x2 8.5ltr pots, x2 Marix discs, the Marix discs are placed inside each of the pots to prevent soil/compost from leaving the pots, x2 Root Control Discs or RCD's, the RCD's are placed in the tray under each pot, gold face up. The RCD's will prevent roots from leaving the pots and discourage them from heading towards the AQUAvalve. A single AQUAvalve is supplied with the easy2grow Kit & placed in between the pots. 1.5 meters of pipe & a 4mm filter that is placed inside the tank, to filter the water before it travels from the tank to the tray are also supplied. All greenhouse crops thrive in this system such as Tomatoes, Cucumbers & Chillies, in fact the easy2grow Kit will grow any plant, edible or ornamental. This really is a breakthrough in easy greenhouse irrigation, no other complete system can be left unattended for several weeks and still produce beautiful plants time & time again.

RULE OF THUMB: Always raise your tank to a minimum of 1-2 feet above the highest AQUAvalve and re-fill the tank when there is approximately a third of the solution left. The easy2grow Kit is also guaranteed to water & feed any variety of plant for a minimum of two weeks. You can now go away on holiday with the assurance that upon your return your plants will have been watered & fed by your easy2grow Kit.

Extending the System with the 2Pot Extension Kit

The 2Pot Extension Kit is simply added onto the easy2grow kit to extend the system. The 2Pot Extension Kit is supplied with the following: x1 2Pot tray & lid, x2 8.5ltr pots, x2 Marix discs, the Marix discs are placed inside each of the pots to prevent soil/compost from falling from the pots, x2 Root Control Discs; the RCD's are placed in the tray under each pot, gold face up. The RCD's will prevent roots from leaving the pots and discourage them from heading towards the AQUAvalve.

A single AQUAvalve is supplied with the 2Pot Extension Kit & placed in between the pots, 1.5 meters of 6mm pipe & a 6mm Tee for easy connection to your easy2grow Kit or existing system are also supplied. It only takes a matter of minutes to attach additional trays to your existing system.

AutoPot recommends that a maximum of 3 trays are attached to the easy2grow Kit tank.

If you wish to increase the size of your system you can easily do so by either purchasing another 47 ltr tank so that you have two tanks at either end of your trays, providing water from both ends. Alternatively you can use larger AutoPot tanks and use larger pipe, such as hosepipe to supply the water & feed. Please see images below. Please note that as you add more trays to your tank you will reduce the amount of time that the water supply will last.

The 1Pot System is a single pot system. The system comes supplied with a tray that accommodates a 15 ltr pot, a Marix disc that it placed inside the pot; the Marix disc is used to prevent soil/compost from leaving the pot & a Root Control Disc that is placed under the pot in the tray cavity, gold face up. The Root Control Disc or RCD will prevent roots from leaving the pot and discourage them from heading towards the AQUAvalve, an AQUAvalve which controls the water supply & 1.5 meters of 6mm pipe that supplies the water to the system are also supplied.

The 1Pot System is extremely versatile and can be used for a wide range of plant types and sizes. Seasonal flowering plants and perennial shrubs thrive and produce an abundance of blooms and foliage because of the unique action of the AQUAvalve, which is designed to allow the plant to go through a wet & dry cycle. The 1Pot System is easily extended so many pots can be linked to a single tank. Please see examples of typical layouts below using 6mm pipe or 16mm pipe. The pots & trays can be easily moved at will, so if the plants grow too large they can be spaced further apart with ease. Once set up and a tank is filled with water & liquid feed this extremely versatile system will completely take care of all your plants needs. All you need to do is remember to fill up your tank from time to time.

RULE OF THUMB: Always raise your tank to a minimum of 1-2 feet above the highest AQUAvalve and re-fill the tank when there is approximately a third of the solution left. Tanks & filters sold separately.

The AirDome has been designed to increase the amount of air around the root zone in the pot. If you are lucky enough to have power in your greenhouse this little addition can increase yields by up to 130%. It is very simple to use once assembled, which will take less than 30 seconds, the AirDome is placed at the bottom of the pot, covered with compost and then connected to an air pump.
